How to Test a Spark Ignitor

by | | 0 comment(s)

Are you having issues with your fire pit? Are you unable to light it or get a spark? One of the first things you want to do in this type of situation is test your ignition system.

Here's what you will need:

•Spark ignition kit

•2" paperclip

•A new AAA battery

Step 1: First you are going to want to unscrew the ignition module top. Place the AAA battery in the module with the positive side facing down, and screw the top back on.

Step 2: Now take your 2" paperclip and place it around the nut on the ignitor bracket. You will want to make sure that the gap between the paperclip and the ignitor probe is less than half an inch.

Step 3: Connect the ignitor wire and the base wire to the bottom side of the ignition module. Now push for a spark!

If you see a spark then congratulations, your ignition system works! If not, then you will want to toss your current system and replace it with a new one.
