Is Fireglass sharp and is it dangerous to touch? Fireglass is tumbled to remove any sharp edges and then it is washed to make it sparkle.
Can I use Fireglass with propane or natural gas? Yes to both. Just make sure when you purchase your burner pan you purchase the correct connection kit for the type of gas you are using. The orifice is different for NG than it is for LP. Also you will need an air-mixture orofice for LP to keep it from sooting.
What colors does Fireglass come in? Lots of different colors including reflective colors. You will be able to find a color that will enhance your enviorment. A lot of our customers like to mix colors to customize the look to fit their exact de'cor. Some even like to change out the color depending on the holiday, favorite sports team, school colors, or any special occasion. Just scoop out the glass and save it for later.
What is the reflective glass? One side of our reflective Fireglass has a mirror like finish providing a stunning sparkle. Some people like to mix the reflective colors in with standard colors to create something really special!
Does Fireglass ever burn or fade? Fireglass will not burn, melt or discolor. It will not pop, create soot, ash or smoke either. No more messes to clean up! Does Fireglass produce more heat? You bet! When using one of our burner pans with Fireglass it will radiate 3-4 times more heat with its reflective surface than wood or artificial logs.
Do I need really need a burner pan? No but… our burner pan is designed for glass will provide a much better fame spread. Most log burner pipes have one row of flame holes while our burner pans have two or three flame pipes creating a much better look for your glass. Our burner pans will also provide better radiant heat without using more gas. By using our burner pans you get a better visual, more heat output and more sparkle. In addition to pans we have a huge selection of burner rings, stars, squares and rectangles.
Do I still need a screen in front of my fireplace when using Fireglass? It’s time to remove the screen and the glass doors that have been blocking your view. Fireglass was made for use in fire and will not pop sending burning cinders onto your carpet like wood. There is also no smoke, soot or ashes emitted from Fireglass. Note: it is not recommended to remove any safety devices such as screen and doors if you have small pets or children. Some other brands of cheap glass can have air pockets in the glass causing them to pop or explode.
Can I use Fireglass in a non-vented fireplace? The answer is now, YES! You can use our fireglass indoors in vent-free fireplaces but only when using our vent-free approved burner syste. It is the only approved vent-free glass system available. It has been tested and approved for vent-free use.
My fireplace has a pilot light. Can I use Fireglass? A manual key controlled fireplace eliminates the need for a pilot that must always burn in order to ignite the fireplace when used. Also, with the manual valve you are able to cover the burner completely with glass. Some customers have used a wire mess to keep the glass from smothering the pilot light. Consult your local gas contractor is your area for specific information on compliance.

Fireglass Installation- Fireplace Before we begin this would be a good time to clean your fireplace using a wire brush. If it has been awhile since you last cleaned your chimney you may want to contact a professional chimney sweep as well. The following instructions assume you have a gas line to your fireplace, if not stop now and consult a local plumber or an A/C/Heating contractor to have one installed. You should also consult with your local code department to learn about local gas codes concerning natural gas and or propane gas.
Connect the burner pan to your gas line with the proper connection kit (propane vs. natural gas). Center the burner pan in your fireplace.
Now youre ready to add the fireglass. Start from the front and move towards the back. You will end up with about a 3-4" layer of glass. By tapering the front slightly you will help keep the glass in the fireplace.

Some people would like to build their own custom fire pits. These custom fire pits can take on an endless array of sizes and shapes. We can’t begin to discuss all the different types of building materials and designs. We will assume you have your fire pit built and go from there.
The following instructions assume you have a gas line to your fire pit or you plan on using a portable propane tank. If not, stop now and consult a local plumber or an A/C/Heating contractor to have one installed. You should also consult with your local code department to learn about local gas codes concerning natural gas and or propane gas.
Depending on the size of your fire pit you may want to pre-fill your fire pit with lava rock (from your local building supply store) before installing your burner pan, ring, star, ect. This is not necessary but if you need to fill a large pit this is a money saving idea.
Connect the burner to your gas line with the proper connection kit (propane vs. natural gas). The holes in the burner should be facing up. Center the burner pan in your fire pit
